How to Enroll in our WriteSpace Component Ed McCorduck CPN 100/101: Writing Studies I/II on Computer SUNY Cortland

slide 2: go to the Cengage Learning login page CPN 100/101: Writing Studies I/II on Computer In your Web browser, go to academic.cengage.com/login. academic.cengage.com/login

slide 3: as a new user you’ll need to create an account with Cengage CPN 100/101: Writing Studies I/II on Computer At the Cengage Learning login page, click on the Create My Account button.

slide 4: you’ll register as a student, of course CPN 100/101: Writing Studies I/II on Computer On the first Registration page, click on the Student button.

slide 5: enter your Cengage Access Code CPN 100/101: Writing Studies I/II on Computer On the Step 1. Registration page, in the text box labeled Enter Your Access Code: type in the Cengage Access Code I had given you. After entering your Access Code, click on the Continue button.

slide 6: where you’ll supply your new account information CPN 100/101: Writing Studies I/II on Computer You’ll then be taken to the Step 2. Registration page.

slide 7: a couple of things you might want to opt out of CPN 100/101: Writing Studies I/II on Computer You’ll supply your information in the text boxes pictured on the previous slide, but my advice is to next scroll down to the bottom of the page and uncheck one or both of the last two options you’ll see under the *I am at least 13 years of age. option (which as the red asterisk indicates must remain checked): You can of course leave one or both of these checked if you prefer.

slide 8: remember to click “I Accept” before continuing CPN 100/101: Writing Studies I/II on Computer You’ll also need to scroll down and click the “ I Accept ” button: Then click on the Continue button.

slide 9: choose “United States” as your location CPN 100/101: Writing Studies I/II on Computer On the Step 3. Registration page you’ll get next, in the drop-down menu labeled * Location: click on the item United States :

slide 10: choose “4 Year College” as your institution type CPN 100/101: Writing Studies I/II on Computer Another drop-down menu labeled *Institution Type: will appear under the *Location: box. In this menu click on the item 4 Year College :

slide 11: enter Cortland’s zip code CPN 100/101: Writing Studies I/II on Computer In the text box labeled Zip Code: type : Then click on the Search button.

slide 12: select SUNY Cortland as your institution CPN 100/101: Writing Studies I/II on Computer On the results page you’ll get next, click on the radio button next to SUNY - CORTLAND : Then click on the Register button in the lower right of the window.

slide 13: your Cengage “dashboard” showing you’re now officially registered with Cengage CPN 100/101: Writing Studies I/II on Computer You’ll then be taken to your Cengage “My Dashboard” page that will show the address you registered with as well as SUNY Cortland as your institution: In the “Selected Title” table, click on the WriteSpace for Developmental English link under the My Course: label.

slide 15: where you enter the course key for our WriteSpace Component on your CLMS page CPN 100/101: Writing Studies I/II on Computer Scroll down the main Home frame of your CLMS page to the section titled “Enroll in an Instructor-Led Course”: Click in the text box, clear out the “ Enter Course Key (from Instructor ) ” text already there and then type the following in the box: (Note: The hyphen is necessary, and all the 0 s are zeroes and not capital o letters.) Then click on the Enroll button.

slide 16: the confirmation pop-up you’ll see if you entered the course key correctly CPN 100/101: Writing Studies I/II on Computer If you entered the course key exactly as shown on the previous slide, you’ll then see a window like the following pop up:

slide 17: your CLMS page showing that you’re now enrolled in our WriteSpace Component CPN 100/101: Writing Studies I/II on Computer After you close the pop-up illustrated on the previous slide, your main CLMS page will reload and then a link to our WriteSpace Component will appear in the “Courses” section of your Home frame:

slide 18: the pop-up you’ll see if you didn’t enter the course key correctly CPN 100/101: Writing Studies I/II on Computer If you didn’t enter the course key exactly as shown on slide 15, after you hit the Enroll button you’ll see the following window pop up: If this happens, just close this pop-up and follow the steps in slide 15 again, being sure to enter the course key exactly as it’s given on that slide.
