Semester Project Idea Emma Schiekofer

Dog Park Shuttle – The ‘Bark Bus’  The Need  Families with two working parents don’t have enough time to take their dogs for a walk/ dogs are left at home alone all day  Addressing the Need  A service shuttle that transports dogs from their home to the dog park  What the ‘Bark Bus’ will provide  Someone to come and pick up your dog and take them to the dog park; Supervise them for a couple of hours and then wash their paws so they are delivered back home clean.

The Need  Problem – A lot of parents don’t have time to take their dogs out throughout the whole day  Dogs should be taken out at least 4 times a day  As you get up in the morning; around lunch time; in late afternoon/early evening, and; at the end of the day just before you go to bed.  Kids don’t get home from school until 3 and usually take dogs on short walks

Facts about Dogs  million dogs are owned in the United States  Approximately 37-47% of all households in the United States have a dog (ASPCA)

The Brand  A company who genuinely loves dogs and who will be there when you can’t be  Loyal and dependable  Wants happy dogs to stay healthy

Research – Shaggy Pines

Research - Care.com

Services the ‘Bark Bus’ will provide  Picks up dog from home  Walks them to the bus with the leash  Only takes 4 dogs at a time  They have to be at least 4 months old  Neutered  Neighbors can sign up together  Drives them to dog park  Lets them into the park  Supervises them  Treat after playtime  Drops them off with clean paws

The ‘Look’ of the Brand  Vintage (1950s)  Colorful and simple

LOGO

Things I need to figure out  Process of getting dog approved  Process of Drivers/caretakers getting hired  Rules and regulations  Membership options

Visually Creating the Brand  Logo  A car wrap – goes on all the shuttles  A website  People can pick their own shuttle driver who best fits their dogs needs (like care.com) (people feel safer picking who is allowed to come in their house)  People can pick a shuttle package that works around their schedule (daily, weekly, monthly)  Social Media Accounts (Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, FB)
