Agatha Christie was born on September 15,1890 in the English city Torquay. Agatha didn’t go to school. Her mother was engaged in teaching. During the First World War Agatha Christie worked as a nurse. Agatha Christie got married in 1914 on colonel Archibalda Christie. They had a daughter-Rosalind. Agatha began to write detective stories in 1920.Her first novel was “Mysterious crime in Stailse”. Agatha Christies books became famous in 1926.

In 1926, Agatha’s mother died and her husband Archibalda Christie, demanded to divorce. After divorce and some time she again married. Her detective novels were very successful, and by 1958 she even topped Agatha Christie’s detective club. In 1971 Agatha Christie got an award the Order of the British for achievements in literature. Queen Elizabeth gave her a title of nobility. Agatha Christie is an auther of more than a hundred short stories,17 plays, more than 70 detective novels, translated into 103 languages. The writer died on January 12,1976 in Wallingford.

As for me, I don’t like reading detective stories but I enjoy watching detectives on TV. My favourite film is Silence of the lambs because it’s exciting and really scary.
