School Atmosphere and Expectations Communication – As Freshmen come into the high school environment, they will be expected to build communicative relationships with their teachers and counselors. Higher academic standards than the middle schools – The level of responsibility of high schools students will be solely upon them to initiate. This will call for courage of the student and support of the community around them.

Graduation Requirements English: 4 years P.E./Health: 4 years Mathematics: 4 years Science: 3 years Social Studies: 3 years Foreign Language: 2 year Career/Technology: 1 year Visual/Performing Art: 1 year Financial Literacy: 1 semester

What is Naviance Family Connection? Family Connection is a Web-based program designed for students and parents. It assists students and parents in helping make decisions about courses, colleges and careers as well as assist in finding funding. Information is specific to Edison High School. Counselors can update students and parents about up- coming meetings, news, events, and other Web resources for college and career information.

Colleges Search for colleges by: location, majors, resources, etc. View average test scores, average GPA’s, funding sources of students, tuition costs, student life, diversity levels, attrition rates, etc. Identify how the student compares (GPA and Test Scores) with other students who applied to that college from Edison High. Explore enrichment programs (ie. Summer programs). Explore scholarships and complete scholarship applications.

Careers Explore career profiles by career clusters, interest, or personality type Provides you with career education requirements, specific job responsibilities, average salaries, and jobs within each career field. Allows the student to take personality and career interest profiler tests to help them find a career that matches your interests.
