Australian context – 2013/2014 Australian Govt spent: $9.8 Billion on residential care homes + $1.3 Billion on home care packages people > residential care homes people > home care packages people over 65 (over 50 for Aboriginal people) > Home and Community Care

Aged Care Homes

Aged Care Home Residents 75% require high levels of care 77% are 80+ years old 30% are 90+ years old 69% are female 18% were born in non-English speaking countries
