The girl who fought for freedom!

 She lead many other runaway slaves to freedom.  She was born in Dorchester County, Maryland  She was one of the 11 children in a slave family.  In 1844 she got married John Tubman.  She freed hundreds of slaves she also freed her parents.

 In 1849 Harriet Tubman fled slavery, leaving her family behind. She participated in over 13 missions to help hundreds of slaves. In mid 1800s Harriet Tubman escaped from slavery in the southern United States. She also led other slaves to freedom.

 Harriet Tubman is a girl who fought for freedom. She was about 39 when she escaped. “At the age of 12 Harriet Ross was seriously injured by a blow to the head, inflicted by a white overseer for refusing to assist in tying up a man who had attempted escape.”
