Introduction Do you know how all slaves want freedom? Well, that’s just what Tubman wanted, and maybe even some more. http://www.newsline.umd.edu/photos/harriet-tubman-2-020411.jpg

Abolitionist When Tubman was young, her master wanted to banish any people called abolitionists. So they wouldn’t help slaves escape. http://rlv.zcache.com/harriet_tubman_african_american_abolitionist_poster-r78b269b6a8b349bca09afb9a9b70560d_aibyj_400.jpg

Born (?) Harriet Tubman was born in 1820or 1821, nobody knows! But, they do know she was born in Dorchester County, Maryland. http://10.1.10.111/contentfiltering/blocked.aspx?id=1804820892339194893

Conductor She was called a conductor of the underground railroad because she never let her train go off the track. Also, she never lost a passenger.

Died Harriet died March 10, 1913, in Auburn, New York. All blacks were sad right then. They just lost the best abolitionist.

Escape You know how all blacks want freedom? Well, that’s just what Harriet wanted! She escaped from her masters, and saved over 300 slaves! http://www.pictur esofharriettubm an.com/Harriet- Tubman- Underground- Railroad.php

Family Tubman Harriet was the sixth of eleven kids, her father Benjamin Ross, and her mother, Harriet Green, were both slaves. http:// media.photobucket.com/image/harriet%20tubman/bellaxlemon/harriettubman.jpg?o=12

Good There was always good in her. She was known as the nicest slave. At least she died happily! http://media.photobucket.com/image/harriet%20tubman/i_abolish_slav ery/tubman.jpg?o=13

Husband In 1844, Harriet married John Tubman, a free man. She wanted to run away with him, but he said NO!

Important Date 1865- the thirteenth amendment was passed, freeing all slaves in the U.S.! So Harriet Tubman was FREE! 1865!

Jesus I don’t think Harriet Tubman went to Church, but she probably knows about Jesus! Jesus is Gods child.

Kind Harriet was kind enough to free all of those slaves, that makes her VERY kind.

Log Hut Tubman was born on a large plantation w/ a big house w/ nice furniture and many rooms. But she was born behind the house in a log-hut w/ a dirt floor, no windows, and no furniture.

Masters Tubman had 2 masters that I know of. A he and a she. They both weren't very nice.

Nurse and Spy During the Civil War, Tubman worked as a nurse and spy for the northern army.

Old To prove that Harriet was elderly and old, here’s an interesting fact! She was 99 years old when she died, COOL!

Prayed Harriet prayed almost every day since she was hit with a metal weight by the master. Then she had a deep cut in her forehead.

Question When she was young, she always questioned slavery. Then when she was older, she saw how terrible it was.

Rights When Harriet was young, you could see in her eyes that she was miserable, and she wanted her rights.

Slave When Tubman was born, her parents were already slaves, so she was born into slavery.

Tempted When Harriet Tubman was young, she was so tempted to eat because she was so hungry. So when she saw sugar lumps, she couldn’t resist, and ate one. http://www.bing.com/images/search?q=harriet+tubman+childhood+images&view=detail&id=0441667018B1C16384B4D03D 09E984659EEC8E05&first=0&FORM=IDFRIR&adlt=strict

Underground Railroad Harriet was a conductor of the Underground Railroad. Meaning, she helped slaves to FREEDOM!

Vex It was a pain to find Tubman when she was running away. Vex means pain.

Weight When Harriet was young, and going to get food at a market, she came between a runaway, and a master. When the slave was running away, the master threw a weight, (meant for the slave).

X-Ray HEY!, Did you know that Harriet Tubman never could, and never would, get her head X-rayed to see if the cut in her head did any damage?

Youth Slaves, still young, (at youth) like Harriet Tubman, would be sold, no matter what! http://www.math.buffalo.edu/~sww/0history/tubmandrivingtrain.jpg

Zip Code Harriet sang a song when it was safe for slaves to come out of hiding while on the run, kind of like a zip-code.

Conclusion We’ll, I hope you learned something about Harriet Tubman, BYE!
