Table of Contents 1 Introduction 2 Harriet`s childhood 3 Harriet Tubman`s struggles 4 Harriet`s Many Names

Introduction Harriet Tubman was the conductor of the underground railroad. Although, not a real railroad it lead many people like Harriet to freedom. Harriet had to deal with lots of struggles, that I am going to state and back up in a while. Miss. Tubman was an abolitionists, which makes sense since nobody should be treated that way! word key abolitionists: people working to end slavery.

Harriet Tubman `s full real birth name was araminta “minty ’’ Ross. she was born into slavery, on a plantation in Virginia. Although her exact birthdate is still unknown people believe that it was in the middle of the 1820s or her mothers name was Harriet “rit” green, and her father`s was Benjamin Ross. in addition, Harriet`s very first home was on the eastern shore Chesapeake bay in Maryland. Sadly, little araminta was taken away from her family at just 5 years old. Moreover, she had to do domestic work like: cleaning her masters house, bringing the fire wood, she and even had to take care of her masters and mistress infant baby being 5 years old! WORD KEY PLANTATION -- A USUALLY LARGE FARM OR ESTATE ON WHICH COTTON, TOBACCO, COFFEE, AND SUGAR CANE IS USUALLY IS RESIDENT LABORERS. DOMESTIC – DEVOTED TO HOME LIFE OR HOUSEHOLD AFFAIRS. MISTRESS -- A WOMEN THAT HAS CONTROL.

HARRIET DIDN`T HAVE TO DEAL WITH VERY DAY NORMAL STURGGLES. FOR EXAMPLE, JUST BECAUSE HARRIET REFUSED TO WHIP A SLAVE HER MASTER THOURGH A ROCK AT HER, THAT CAUSED permanent physical injuries. In addition, the sturdy miss. Harriet Tubman also carried scars for the rest of her live. underprivileged Harriet was lashed 5 times before breakfast for no reason at all! She escaped the distant plantation in 1849 although it seemed like a good thing it was very inflexible to do with out getting found, but of course she can do it! she even escaped with her 2 brothers: Ben and Henry in 1849 too! word key sturdy– strong, firm underprivileged-- disadvantaged distant– far away inflexible– hard

Harriet had many names that many different people called her. For example, To others people call her the conductor of the underground railroad since she basically led the way to freedom. Many people know her by Harriet Tubman, but remember was wasn`t always a Tubman,----- yes you thought right, she got married by a free black man in 1844 still being a slave! She had 3 nicknames through her years which were: minty, Moses, and general Tubman. Since she worked as a cook, nurse, and a spy during the war the must have gave her plenty nicknames that I might still not know of.

sadly, Harriet Tubman died in auburn, new York on march 10, 1913.most people think to honor her mother but I honor her for what she did not her mom. The people who know what she did and how important it was and still is know how amazing one women can be..
