Primary science at Holy Family London school of excellence

What we do We deliver fun and exciting science lessons for year 5 and year 6 pupils. They have all their science lessons in a laboratory. Pupils use science practical resources.

What else do we do for teachers and pupils? We deliver whole school inset. We organise science tips for all our partnership schools. We run science camps during the school holidays.

What do we do for teachers involved? We run continued personal development. We deliver and participate in INSET. We support and plan science lessons with teachers. The teachers observe the delivery of science lessons by a Lead Teacher. We share science resources. We have bought science resources for the primary schools to use. We have set up a science network for the teachers. We are the lead School in Waltham Forest for the North East London Science Learning Partnership.

What do we follow? We follow the national curriculum and all are lessons are meticulously planned, to deliver highly effective lessons that allow all pupils to achieve outstanding test scores. The needs of every pupil is met and challenged. Accurate means of testing are used.

What is the outcome? That pupils have a passion for science. They have a head start in year 7. Their GCSE grade in science will be better. They want a career in science. We are creating scientists of the future.
