Lighting Revision Questions Complete the following revision questions on paper or in WORD and to your teacher for marking. These are suitable for all levels. Created by L McCarry

Lighting Revision Questions Section One 1.Think of a recent stimulus based drama that you have been working on. Choose three different lighting effects that you used. (Flood, Fresnel Spot with a gel or Profile Spot etc.) Say what they were, when you used them and why they were effective in enhancing your drama. 2.What do you consider to be the most important moment in that drama? Give reasons to justify why this was the case. 3.Choose another lighting effect not mentioned in (question 1) and say how this would have helped to enhance this moment. 4.If you were to add a Special effect to this drama what would you use, where would you add it and how would it enhance your drama? Created by L McCarry

Lighting Revision Questions Section 2 1.Think of a drama from your course in which you used or could have used a Crossfade. (This must not be the stimulus drama spoken about on the previous slide.) Explain when and why you used the crossfade. 2.Think of another drama from your course in which you used or could have used a Follow spot. Explain where in the drama it was/would be used and for what reason. 3.Look at the stimulus below: Scene One: It’s a wet and windy night and Sam has missed her bus home from College. Scene Two: She decides to walk home and takes a short cut through some creepy woodland. She's scared. Scene Three: Sam eventually arrives home and feels safe. However her dad is really angry as he has been worried about her whereabouts. 4. What gels on a Fresnel spot would you use in each of the scenes? What mood and atmosphere would they help to create? 5. What Gobo could you use in Scene two and why? 6. In which scene would you use a Profile Spot and why would this enhance this scene?
