“Fall of The House of Usher” 1. It is a dreary, suspenseful and tense mood. 2. The house and the surroundings are grim, ghastly, and sad. Its reflection in the tarn (lake) make it even worse. 3. The narrator is frightened for his life as he comes up to the house.

“Fall of The House of Usher” 4. They are also isolated like the house and have no outside connections. They only talk to each other. 5. It appears that he is sick. He is pale, and tired, and he looks like a corpse. 6. She does have a diagnosis of epilepsy. However, she has a mental disorder. This makes it more eerie, suspenseful and tense.
