LOMS – Meet the Faculty Dr Robert Mason is the Programme Director for the MSc in LOM. He also leads the International Logistics module. He was a retail manager for Marks and Spencer for 15 years. He is a Senior Lecturer in Logistics and has published over 60 papers on logistics related issues in a range of leading journals and conferences. Robert’s academic interests include integrating transport and logistics into international supply networks and inter-organisational relationships in supply chains. His PhD, entitled Collaborative Logistics Triads in Supply Chain Management, was awarded in 2009.

LOMS – Meet the Faculty Dr Rawindaran Nair is Programme Director for the MSc Marine Policy. He lectures on International Trade and Sea Carriage Law and the International Shipping Policy; covering also international public law and policies on maritime safety, the environment, maritime security and on aspects of jurisdiction related to ship navigation. He also specialises in research and teaching on competition law and economics of the container shipping industry.

LOMS – Meet the Faculty Dr Andrew Potter is Programme Director for the MSc International Transport. He is a Reader, with research particularly specialising in examining the role of freight transport within supply chains. He has published in a wide range of journals as well as working collaboratively with both industry and government. He is also actively involved in the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport.

LOMS – Meet the Faculty Professor Anthony Beresford is Programme Director for the MSc International Transport. Anthony has travelled widely in an advisory capacity within the ports and transport fields in Europe, Asia and North America. He co-authored Lloyd’s Maritime Atlas of World’s Ports and Shipping Places, 15th and 16th Editions (1986 & 1989). The 1989 Edition formed the blueprint for all subsequent editions, and the Atlas is recognised as the Standard Work in its field. His work with the United Nations has been widely recognised and has led to a large number of academic publications as well as important outreach activities. In 2012 he was Keynote Speaker at the second African Logistics Conference in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania.

LOMS – Meet the Faculty Professor Stephen Disney is Head of Logistics and Operations Management Section Cardiff Business School. He has previously held Visiting Positions at the Chinese University of Hong Kong and Boston University, USA. His current research interests involve the application of control theory and statistical techniques to operations management and supply chain scenarios in order to investigate their dynamic and economic performance. Stephen has a particular interest in the bullwhip effect. Stephen has advised several of the world's largest corporations on the bullwhip effect and his research has influenced the material flow of at least 1 in every 7 pound of UK retail sales. He has worked with many companies in the UK, US and Europe and on supply chains that operate globally.

LOMS – Current Research LOMSAC Logistics and Operations Management holds 1st annual conference (January 2015) The conference, which is to become an annual event, featured 23 presentations over four sessions, delivered by LOM staff, PhD students and ASTUTE officers. LOMSAC 2015 has been designed to provide LOM members with an opportunity to familiarise themselves, and engage, with the wide range of research undertaken by their colleagues.
