WAGGGS is the world’s largest international voluntary organization for girls and young women WAGGGS is the umbrella for National Member Organizations in 145 countries WAGGGS represents 10 million girls and young women worldwide from different beliefs, origins and backgrounds through its Member Organizations

Girls and young women taking the lead WAGGGS provides non-formal education based on peer education and ‘learning by doing’ WAGGGS provides leadership and life skills WAGGGS empowers girls and young women to speak out on issues they care about and bring about change

WAGGGS Global Survey Of those surveyed: 72% thought that adolescent pregnancy was an issue in their country 45% had been offered drugs by a friend HIV/AIDS, adolescent pregnancy and sexual health were the topics on which WAGGGS should focus 88% thought there was a lot of pressure on girls to stay thin 90% felt more comfortable talking about sex with girls their own age and 30% got their first information about sex from their friends
