Clouds. How Clouds Form Clouds form when water vapor in the air becomes liquid water or ice crystals. As air cools, the amount of water vapor it can hold.
The weather changes from day to day. Some days it is cloudy and rainy. Other days it is sunny and warm. People can predict weather by looking at the clouds.

CLOUDS In meteorology a cloud is a visible mass of liquid droplets or frozen crystals made of water and small particles suspended in the troposphere.
Clouds Grade 2. What is a Cloud? A cloud is made from tiny water droplets and/or ice crystals. Snowflakes are made from a collection of many ice crystals.
Cumulus [cumulus] The word cumulus is a Latin word which means “heap” or “pile.” Cumulus Clouds.
CLOUDS. Cloud Formation As warm air cools, the amount of water vapor increases (humidity rises). When the air is saturated with water vapor tiny water.

Cirrus Clouds Cirrus [cir•rus] The word cirrus is a Latin word which means “curl of hair” or “fringe.”

Cirrus Clouds Cirrus Clouds are named for the way that they look in the sky. When you see cirrus clouds, they will be thin, wisps of clouds that are very high up in the sky. They might remind you of a strand of curly hair way up in the sky. These clouds are so high up in the atmosphere that they are actually made of tiny ice crystals instead of water droplets. Cirrus clouds usually mean fair weather, but they may mean that a storm approaching. Remember: The word cirrus means “curl of hair” or “fringe.”

Cirrus Cloud Picture 1 Can you see any part of these cirrus clouds that look like curly white hair? http://www.balsamfir.com/MotoJournal/moto/images/cirrus.jpg

Cirrus Cloud Picture 2 I need a haircut. Does any body have a pair of cirrus (scissors)? http://www.freewebs.com/thomp730/Cirrus%20clouds-Horz.jpg

Cirrus Cloud Picture 3 Remember, the word cirrus means “curl of hair” or “fringe.” If you see thin strands of ice clouds high up in the atmosphere, its probably a cirrus cloud. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/0/0b/Cirrus_over_Warsaw,_June_26,_2005.jpg
