Print Screen Activity

Definition “A screencast is a digital recording of computer screen output, also known as a video screen capture, often containing audio narration. “Just as a screenshot is a picture of a user's screen, a screencast is essentially a movie of the changes over time that a user sees on their monitor.” (Wikipedia)

A History Original Screencasting software – IBM’s Lotus ScreenCam in 1994 (was available in 2003 for $89, but today is no longer sold) Bradpochs Mar , 7:24 am It's a fantastic product. I'm currently using it for all sorts of training in our firm. We have a client that uses a DOS based Time & Billing system, that they run under windows. I've been able to use it to allow the users to see exactly what they must do to carry out a specific command. I'm sure that it will advance beyond it's very simple current design, allowing for much better integration with things like help files, etc.

A History, con’t The term ‘Screencasting’ was coined in 2004 by Jon Udell – Via blog inquiry Also Known As – ‘screen recording’, ‘screen capturing’, ‘video screencasting’ Photo credit: White Light MediaWhite Light Media
