Chickasaw Indians Presented By: Anjali Vira Bailey Thomas Grady Rozum Ally Irvin Morgan Fischer Whitney Williams

History In the 18 century the Chickasaw got involved in struggles between the British and French. They took sides with the British. In the 1830’s they where moved to what is now Oklahoma. They were great warriors.

Beliefs Long ago the Chickasaws believed in a Supreme being. This being was called Ababinili. He who lives above the heavens. They had a ceremony after hunting. They ate, danced and told stories.

Where they lived The Chickasaw lived in Mississippi, Alabama, Tennessee, Kentucky and Missouri. Most Chickasaws were forced to move to Oklahoma in the 1800's, and their descendants live in Oklahoma today.Mississippi AlabamaTennesseeKentucky Missouri

Foods The Chickasaw Indians ate squash, corn, beans, deer, strawberries, nuts, acorns, honey, raisins, prunes and they made tea with the prunes and raisins.

Clothing The Chickasaw wore deer skins, bear skins and other animal skins.

Interesting Fact The Chickasaw believed if they used a turtles foot as a medicine rattle, that it would heal people.
