2. History of the Choctaw
When they left Alabama to move to Oklahoma they left their precious beliefs behind in The missionaries talked them into Christianity and their religions and beliefs. The Choctaw were known for their stories. They became enemies with the French.

3. Choctaw Beliefs
Long ago, the Choctaws believed that each person had an inner and an outer spirit. The inner spirit is called “Shilup”. The outer spirit is called “Shilombish”.

4. Where Choctaw lived
The Choctaw lived in Alabama, Oklahoma, and Mississippi.

5. Foods
For the Choctaw corn was the most important food. They also grew carrots, pumpkins, and potatoes.

6. Trade
Choctaw Indians traded animal furs and skins for European goods such as copper kettles, metal knives ,guns, and cloth.

7. Clothing
Men wore tight leather pants woman wore deer skin skirts or dresses. Choctaw people wore moccasins on their feet.

8. Interesting Fact
Choctaw hunters used seven foot blow guns.
