Who founded/started The Salvation Army? The Salvation Army was started by William Booth and his wife Catherine Booth. William Booth was unhappy with his church. Because they were only paying attention to god and not to all the poor people outside living in the street.

When did William Booth decide to do something about this? In the Victorian times William Booth started a task that was so hard but he could still tackle. Start the Salvation Army but it was so hard that he needed his wife to help a bit.

What did William Booth and Catherine Booth do for these poor people? William Booth and Catherine Booth went down the streets every night to find people lying on the streets of London. When they found someone lying on the streets they would put them in a coughing bed even though there not as comfy as the ones today. But it was still better than lying on the street.

Who came up with the logo and when? Colonel Walter Peacock introduced the red shield logo in world war I.

When did Catherine Booth die? Catherine Booth died in October 4 th 1890 a few years before William Booth. I would imagine that William Booth would be sad when his wife had died.
