1 True Parents’ History For Children Father’s Journey to Pusan
What happened after Hungman Prison? By: Me

2 The Korean War… Was a war between the Communists and the United Nations troops. Communists-led by Mao Tse Tung (China)& Kin Il Sung(North Korea). Satan was using these men to build a satanic kingdom on earth God was using father to build the heavenly kingdom on earth Everyone was trying to escape to safety in the south The roads were filled with people.

3 However… Father did not go south right away. He first wanted to check on his disciples in Pyungnam. He refused to leave without them He found his first disciple (Won Pil Kim) in Pyungnam. Together they wen to visit each of the disciples.

4 To his disappointment…
Many had not remained faithful. He went to see each one of them 3 times, and he was declined three times. Together they went to go find Mr. Pak (Pak Jung Hwa) Mr. Pak had a broken leg, he was questioned by the police, and as a punishment they had broken his leg.

5 “We are all going south together”..
Said father, Mr. Pak was so surprised he cried and cried from happiness because father cared so much about him. Father had Mr. Pak ride on a bicycle as he pulled from the front. On December 4th 1950 father, Mr. Kim, and Mr. Pak started their long journey to Pusan (in south Korea)

6 How far is Pusan anyways?
Start End

7 They had to go through small back roads…
Because the main roads and middle roads were filled with troops and people running away from the communists. These small roads went through woods, rivers, and mountains. Can you imagine pulling someone as big as you on a bicycle through ice cold waters and steep mountains?

8 “I cant go on anymore..” Said Mr. Pak. “I'm going to die anyways. So please go on without me” “No!” father said. “how could you say such a thing?! We pledged to god to live and die together. You must not say such things!” Father would not abandon Mr. Pak I’ll never abandon you!!!! How could you say that?!

9 After many days.. They arrived at Hwanghae Do.
Two miles from there was an island called Yongmae. They had heard that they can take a boat the rest of the way to Pusan. Since a bicycle cannot go through the ocean, father put Mr. Pak on his back and walked through 2 miles of muddy ocean floor when the tide went out.

10 Can you imagine? If pushing someone on a bicycle through rivers and mountains is hard, how hard would it be carrying someone on your back for 2 miles! A ruler is 12 in. So…10560 feet! 2640 feet If you’re 4 feet tall.

11 Finally they made it… A boat was just leaving for the south and it was packed with people. One mother even went on the boat leaving her crying daughter. Child- “mother why are you on the boat alone? Please don’t leave without me!” Mother- “you are young you will surely think of something” Very sad

12 Looking at all the miserable people..
Father decided to go back before the communists came, and carried Mr. Pak the 2 miles back to Hwanghae Do. Soon it was night and all 3 of them were dirty, hungry, and exhausted. To their luck, they found a small house with its lights still on. When they knocked on the door a nice school teacher and his wife answered.

13 Father told them their story..
The school teacher felt sorry for their sufferings and took good care of them. They were given a nice dinner, the warmest room to sleep in, and a wonderful breakfast. They set out to complete their journey.

14 Soon Mr. Pak’s leg healed..
After the long journey Mr. Pak decided to stay at Kyung Ju City and promised to meet father and Mr. Kim in Pusan later. Father and Mr. Pak went to a town called Ulsan and they were able to catch a train to Pusan. Bye!

15 January 27, 2 months after they began their journey they reached Pusan. Satan had tried his hardest to defeat True Father, but Fathers strong spirit and love for God was unchanging. He was able to endure to the end and gain victory for heaven and earth.

16 Question Time! If father would not have endured all the difficulties he met, would he have been victorious? Do you think you have to work hard to succeed in your life (school, home, church, etc.)? Oh yeah by the way..

17 EVERYTHING IS AWESOME!!!
