Ivana Brlić Mažuranić was born in Ogulin on 18th of April Ivana Brlić Mažuranić was born in Ogulin on 18th of April. She died in 1938. She was famous Croatian writer, her books have been very successful.

Her grandfather Ivan Mažuranić was great politician and poet . She was married to Vatroslav Brlić. They had seven children.

She wrote many hit books and novels like Stories From Long Ago, Apprentice Hlapić, Fables and Fairy Tales.

She is important because she was the first female member of HAZU (Croatian Academy of Science and Arts). She was two times nominated for the Nobel Prize.

Her books have been translated to many diffrent languages.
