WHAT IS A QUOTATION? An expression or saying Provides inspiration Invokes philosophical or rational thought. Applicable to a situation or event.

QUOTATIONS MUST… Relate to the value being taught e.g.:VALUE: NON-VIOLENCE SUB- VALUE: COMPASSION Be brief and to the point

After the quotation is introduced; -allow for a few minutes of discussion -encourage the children to express their views

QUOTATIONS HELP TO: Develop memory Promote analytical thinking

QUOTATIONS HELP TO: Establish truly human ideals Enable children to relate to the highest in themselves

SUGGESTIONS: It is recommended that children memorize some of the quotes. They may even keep a book of quotations as these will serve as useful in writing projects.
