The interceding Christian In Intercessory Prayer

 An intercessor is one who pleads on the behalf of another person.  Often, we as born again believers yield our hearts to God in prayer on the behalf of love ones, relatives, and friends, etc., we find ourselves pleading their cases.  When this happen you are interceding on their behalf this is intercessory prayer in action.  Jesus Christ is the greatest example of an intercessor, the scriptures states that Jesus ever live to make intercession for us.  Intercessory prayer is a type of prayer separated from all other prayers, where the scriptures states in Ephesians 6:18, Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the spirit.  This scriptures states that there are many types of prayer, just to mention a few. There is the prayer of faith, deliverance, consecration, commitment, united prayer, weapons of warfare, agreement prayer, the prayer of salvation, praying in the spirit, etc.  Intercessory prayer is praying God’s will for a particular person, place or thing/event.

The Interceding Christian  Intercessory prayer as a life style.  Hebrews 7:25, States that Jesus Christ ever liveth to make intercession for us.  I EXHORT therefore, that first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. 1 Timothy 2:1,2

The Interceding Christian  Intercessory prayer is unique and different than all the other prayers, because it allows you the opportunity to employ what you need from the other types of prayers as needed.  In intercessory prayer one may at times pray in tongues, or with the prayer of agreement, the prayer of faith, the prayer of worship, etc.,.  Remember the Holy Spirit is always present to help us pray. HE’S ALWAYS PRESENT

The Interceding Christian  How important is prayer?  The word prayer, pray, prayed, prayers, prayest, prayeth, praying appears in the bible about 525 times.  In the old testament 351.  In the new testament 174.  There are all kinds of shadows and types of prayer. For example, the prayer of atonement is a form of intercessory prayer. An offering offer to God is a type of worship in the old testament.

The Interceding Christian  What does the word prayer mean:  Prayer is the act of praying.  A humble and sincere request, as to God.  A set of words used in praying to God.  To talk or recite a set of words to God in worship or in asking for something.  To ask for seriously.  Supplication, request, worship, make request, prayer, a petition, utter a whisper, mediate, commune, talk.
