Defination It is the act of transmitting a message To change ideas To establish a relationship

Utility of communication Enable to inform To express something To persuade somebody to change; that is to modify his behaviour in the adoption of a less risky sexual behaviour

Factors for success in communication Adapted language to the target Organisation Mastery of the subject Good chose of the target

Factors of failure in communication Difficult chose of words Poor organisation Non mastery of the subject Inappropriate environment Noise Non respect of time Wrong chose of target

What is active listening It is listen to somebody with all your senses

Types of communication Inter personal communication (counselling, dialogue) Group communication (educative talks) Mass communication (medias and news papers)

Means of communication Written articles: flyers, journals, posters Audio visual: television and radio spot, projection of educative talks

Attitude to adopt for good communication Greet politely Present yourself Give reasons for your presence Ask for permission If the person is busy, ask politely for another rendezvous If the person refuses another rendezvous, thank him/her for haven’t wasted her/him time Give any track (flyer) on the subject Make sure that the message goes through and that she understands what you are telling her
