3 Group 1: Students who reach Mandarin GCSE or equivalent. Entry Level: This applies directly to students who finish our LN104 Mandarin Language and Society (Beginner) degree option or a Level 2 Mandarin MFL certificate course at LSE. Length: 8 weeks; 25 teaching hours a week plus social activities Dates: 13 July 2015 to 04 Sep 2015 Content: New Practical Chinese Reader book 2 and 3 (equivalent to LN142 Mandarin Language and Society (Intermediate) Exit Level: A Level. Therefore, ready for LN140 Mandarin Language and Society (Advanced) Course Fee: 8,000 RMB; equivalent to £800 Accommodation: Fudan Campus or nearby hotel

4 Group 2: Students who reach Mandarin A level or equivalent. Entry Level: This applies to students finish Level 2/3 (LN142 or LN140) on Degree Option or Level 3/4/5 on Certificate courses at LSE. Length: 5 weeks; 25 teaching hours a week plus social activities Dates: 03 Aug 2014 to 04 Sept 2015 Content: Intermediate to Advanced Mandarin lessons with general lectures on social science subjects in Mandarin Exit Level: Enhanced Advanced Level. Course Fee: 5,000RMB, equivalent to £500 Accommodation: Fudan Campus or nearby hotel

5 Accommodation: Hotel at Fudan campus: 复旦燕园宾馆 Twin room at $26.25 per person, including breakfast Tohee international students village ( single bedroom (bathroom will be shared): 120yuan/per day/ per person shared bedroom (bathroom will be shared) : 90 yuan/ per day/ per person (two people per room) LSE students can contact: for more Hotels nearby Hanting ( 汉庭） Express - RMB 160 per night per person (en- suite). 170 for shared room (price for room i.e. RMB 85 per person) Arrange it yourself Other cost to consider: Flights; books; living expenses; short trips in China
