TYPES AND DISTRIBUTION OF FOREST AND WILDLIFE RESOURSES.

(1) RESERVED FORESTS More than half of the total forest land has been declared reserved forests. These forests are regarded as the most valuable as far as the conservation of forest and wildlife resources are concerned. They are referred as permanent forest.

If we want to conserve our vast forest and wildlife resources, it is difficult to manage, control and regulate them. In India, much of its forest and wildlife resources are either owned or managed by the government through the Forest Department. These are classified are Reserved forests, protected forests, unclassed forests.

EXAMPLES…. Jammu and Kashmir Andra Pradesh Kerala Tamil nadu

(2) PROTECTED FORESTS: Almost one-third of the total forest area is protected forest, which have been declared by the forest department. This land is protected from any further depletion. They are referred as permanent forest.

One of the most famous protected forest in India the Periyar National Park

BIHAR More Examples.. PUNJAB HIMACHAL PRADESH
