The Grant To release the MT from the equivalent of one afternoon a week Seed funding to: Receive training Build community links Run initial events
The Master Teacher Find, recruit and train existing experienced teachers to work with other teachers in their local community. Expert point of contact for advice, guidance and support Run regular CPD Partnership with employers, universities and professional bodies. Modest ‘set-up’ grant Aim to be self-sustaining.
Issues Teachers' confidence and experience: Many teachers are scared or overwhelmed. Some lack skills in relevant technologies Large demand for CPD Where do they go for guidance? The CAS MT provides local support and training to raise the confidence and experience level of teachers. Subject knowledge is important but the focus is using the expertise and experience of the MT to answer the question ‘How do I teach this in my classroom?’
