Cygwin ???  Cygwin is a Linux-like environment for Windows. It consists of two parts:  A DLL (cygwin1.dll) which acts as a Linux API emulation layer providing substantial Linux API functionality.  A collection of tools which provide Linux look and feel.  The Cygwin DLL currently works with all recent, commercially released x86 32 bit and 64 bit versions of Windows, with the exception of Windows CE

DOWNLOADING Cygwin  Download cygwin from:  Run setup.exe any time you want to update or install a Cygwin package.setup.exe  Note that, when installing packages for the first time, setup.exe does not install every package. Only the minimal base packages from the Cygwin distribution are installed by default.

DOWNLOADING ns-allinone-2.xx  Download ns-allinone-2.xx.tar.gz from: build.html#allinone  Current version is ns-allinone-2.32.tar.gz available at sourceforge.net  /ns-allinone-2.30.tar.gz /ns-allinone-2.30.tar.gz  The ns-allinone-2.30.tar.gz (65.8 MB) archive contains folder ns-allinone-2.30

INSTALL NS-2 IN CYGWIN  Extract and Copy the folder “ns-allinone-2.30” in C:\cygwin\home\Administrator  Enter into “ns-allinone-2.30” folder through terminal:  cd ns-allinone-2.30\  Enter./install command in cygwin terminal

Replace COMMA with COLON & There should be NO SPACES

X SERVER

HOW TO RUN.tcl FILE  Command:  ns filename.tcl

INSTALLATION IN LINUX ( FEDORA-CORE 4)

EXTRACT THE.gz ARCHIVE

CUT THE FOLDER

PASTE TO HOME FOLDER

LAUNCH TERMINAL CLIENT

GOTO NS-ALLINONE FOLDER

RUN INSTALL

END OF INSTALL SCRIPT

SHOW HIDDEN FILES

LOCATE.bashrc

FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS

ADD TO PATH

ADD LIBRARY_PATHS

RUN validate

INSTALLATION VALIDATED
