Tech Prep Virtual Conference Person County Consortium Innovative Math/Science Remediation Person County Consortium is composed of Person County Schools and Piedmont Community Video Clip shows Person High CTP students participating in an innovative project to improve their math and science skills.

Innovative Math/Science Remediation  Person High electrical trades students are making good use of opportunities to hone their math & science skills. The electrical trades classes articulate with several programs at PCC.  The video shows students using various modules which were purchased using Tech Prep grant funds.

Remediation Details  Students used Construction Zone modules to improve construction math skills.  Learning Labs modules were used to improve residential wiring and electrical controls skills.  ATech modules were used to improve student understanding of electrical current and safety.

Remediation Project Benefits  Students were able to improve math and science skills while working in their subject area.  Students learned using lap tops and through “hands on” application.  Students saw the benefits of a CTP curriculum and a Tech Prep grant.  These students are also eligible to attend the Industrial Occupations Exploration Camp this summer at PCC.
