Definition of Methodology 1.Methodology is the science or study of methods. [The Advanced Lerner’sDictionary of Current English with Chinese Translation] 2. Methodology is the set of methods used for study or action in a particular subject. [ Longman Dictionary of Contemporary English]

3. Methodology (1) (in language teaching) the study of the practices and procedures used in teaching, and the principles and beliefs that underlie them. Methodology includes: (a) study of the nature of language skills (eg reading, writing, speaking, listening ) and procedures for teaching them (b) study of the preparation of lesson plan, materials, and textbooks for teaching language skills (c) the evaluation and comparison of language teaching methods (the Audiolingual Method) (2) such practices, procedures, principles, and beliefs themselves. One can for example criticize or praise the methodology of a particular language course. [Longman Dictionary of Applied Linguistics ]
