Using websites in the classroom (pp ) 1.The web is a source of content—ELT as well as authentic materials. 2.Collaborate with your colleagues—share ideas and materials. 3.Explain your learners why you use the Internet.

ELT websites or authentic websites? (pp ) ( authentic materials=“materials that were not originally made for pedagogical purposes”) Both can be used. ELT websites…language practice activities, should be chosen based on the levels of students *one example Randolls’ ESL Cyber Listening Lab Authentic websites…should be chosen to fit students’ levels and interests ….an ideal opportunity to work on “total comprehension”

How to find useful websites The ability to search through Internet content, and quickly and efficiently find suitable resourses=the most underrated but most useful skill for teachers and students. *For teachers: -speed up lesson planning facilitate web use in class For students: -accomplish web-based tasks quickly -the technology enhances learning
