Introduction Bibliotherapy is a term that means many things to many people. The goal of this Webquest is to examine the concept in light of what you already know and the Resources/information provided on the websites. Be prepared to share your thinking in class.

The Task Your task is to activate your background knowledge by thinking about what you already know. You will then visit selected sites and elaborate on and/or reconceptualize your understanding. You should come away with more background and ideas about the content of this course.

The Process 1. Prior to linking to the Indiana Website Source do a quickwrite on each of the following issues: What is Bibliotherapy? Why Bibliotherapy? Its purposes… Who does it? How? Brainstorm Range of Topics of Concern Click here for worksheet 2. During the reading and scanning of websites jot down notes to add to your quickwrite. Read the first two Links closely, scan other links. Jot down ideas, topics of interest. 3. After reading and taking notes reconceptualize your response to the above issues by rewriting your response To each of the questions integrating what you have learned. 4.Go beyond what you have read by identify and locate a children’s picture book under one of the topics of concern. Read it and consider how and when you might use it. Be prepared to share your book in class.
