The Water Cycle

Step 1 - Moisture condenses in the sky to form clouds.

Step 2 - The heavily condensed moisture falls to the Earth as rain

Step 3 - The ground becomes saturated and water accumulates.

Step 4 -Water forms streams and rivers, and runs into lakes and oceans.

Step 5 - Plants take up water as they grow, and release moisture through transpiration.

Step 6 -The sun, the source of energy that keeps the cycle moving, shines down upon the earth.

Step 7 - The warmth of the sun causes moisture to evaporate from the earth and plants.

Step 8 - As evaporated water cools, it condenses to form clouds, and the cycle begins again.
