What do I weigh on...? A mathematics and science lesson

The Sun The Sun is a star. The Sun has solar flares coming off its surface. The Sun has the hottest core temperature in our solar system.

MERCURY Mercury is the closest planet to the sun Mercury looks a lot like our moon Mercury is the smallest planet A person weighing 90 pounds on Earth is about 34.2 pounds on Mercury. To figure out what you weigh on Mercury, take your weight and multiply 0.38 to find the answer.

VENUS Venus spins backwards Venus has the hottest surface temperature of all planets. Venus is referred to as Earth’s sister planet. That same person that was on Mercury has now traveled to Venus and now weighs 81 pounds. The gravity multiple for this planet is 0.90.

Earth is the planet you live on Earth is the only planet with liquid water Earth is the third planet from the sun

Mars is known as the red planet Mars has four seasons Mars has dust storms that cover the whole planet A 90 pound person would weigh the same as a person on Mercury, which is 34.2 pounds. The gravity multiple for Mars is 0.38.

A 90 pound person is on Jupiter’s gaseous surface. The gravity multiple for Jupiter is Jupiter is the largest planet in the solar system Jupiter is the fifth planet from the sun Jupiter has no solid surface

Saturn is famous for its rings Saturn is the sixth planet from the sun Saturn’s rings are made up of billions of little pieces of rocks and ice A 90 pound person on Saturn would weigh pounds. The gravity multiple is 1.16.

Uranus spins on its side Uranus looks like a blue-green disk Uranus is the seventh planet from the sun A person weighing 90 pounds on Earth would 82.8 pounds on Uranus. The gravity multiple is 0.92.

Neptune is the eighth planet from the sun Neptune has a moon that orbits in the opposite direction Neptune is the bluest planet in the solar system A 90 pound person on Neptune weighs pounds. The gravity multiple is 1.19.

A person weighing 90 pounds on Earth would weigh 5.4 pounds on Pluto. The gravity multiple for Pluto is Pluto is a dwarf planet Pluto has a very unusual orbit Pluto is a member of the Kuiper Belt
