“One Vision, One Identity, One Community”. ASEAN with different cultures, religions, languages and educational systems, must develop a harmonized system of education. This system can be developed on basis of common, but not identical, practices and guidelines for cooperation.

Principle of mutual recognition stipulates that if a standard is approved in one country it is accepted in all participating countries. Principle of harmonization operates differently, previous national standards do prevail, but trade across borders only occurs with products fulfilling the harmonized standard.

National higher education systems are harmonized (working towards greater comparability of higher education structures & practices) to encourage international mobility. Harmonizing the diverse systems of higher education in the region is an important step towards the regional integration objective.

We must prepare new generations for the future world and not to go for uniformity but instead to seek for harmony and allowing for mutual recognition, assessment and compliance to international standards.

Implementing ASEAN standards: Establish credit transfer system for mobility and dual degree programs. Mechanisms for making Indonesia and Thai Higher Education systems compatible & internationally attractive to build bridges for academic cooperation.

CRISU-CUPT Exchange program to enhance quality education and promote understanding between people and cultures through student mobility and academic exchange. The partnerships manage mobility flows between the two nations under our scholarship programs.

Student mobility, credit transfers, quality assurance and research clusters were identified as four main priorities to harmonize our higher education system. CRISU-CUPT should develop an Indonesian-Thai Credit Transfer System to facilitate student mobility

Indonesian-Thai credit transfer system (ITCTS) with grade conversion tables for common understanding of the different grading systems in Indonesia and Thailand to enable accurate interpretation of grades (or marks) leading to a fair and manageable conversion of these grades to a local grade in the home institution.

CRISU-CUPT will coordinate granting credit to a student for courses taken at member institution The course must be evaluated on basis of its comparability to courses at the receiving institution. The coursework for which credit is granted must be applicable to the program of study for which the student has applied.
