Mindfulness: The Key to Self Management

What is Self Management ? Managing our….. Speech Actions Thoughts Why is it important ? Which is the most crucial ? Let us investigate… keep quiet and find out the state of our own mind…… thoughts not in our control !

How do Thoughts arise? Cognition Perception Feelings and sensations Interpretation of whatever is cognized Feelings and sensations Response to the above => thoughts, speech, actions

How to bring about a change in Thoughts ? Usual thought pattern ? Its relationship to feelings? Common approaches to bring about a change Positive thinking ‘Religious’ approaches The paradigm of Mindfulness : story: face the brutes!!

How does Mindfulness bring about a change in Thoughts? Awareness of the habit patterns during meditation helps in identifying them during daily life and naturally brings about a change. Non-reactive obsevation implies refusal to follow the habit patterns !
