ASEP Registration Q&A Session ( ) McKinley and Daniel Webster

What is ASEP? ● After School Enrichment Program ● For over 16 years, ASEP has served the McKinley Community with our Comprehensive Program, Specialty Club Programs, and most recently our Language Program. ● In 2012, ASEP expanded its Comprehensive Program and Specialty Club Programs to Daniel Webster. ● Our mission is to provide the community with equal access to quality afterschool enrichment programming through Arts Enrichment, Academic Support, and Health and Wellness.

Comprehensive ASEP ●Who: Kindergarten through 5 th grade ● What: All-in-one program where students are picked up, fed a healthy snack and taken care of. Students engage in a variety of activities including Theme Based Learning, Homework Assistance, Arts Enrichment and PlaySEP. ● When: Monday through Friday from 1:45 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. (McKinley) Monday through Friday from 2:40 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.(Daniel Webster) ● Where: McKinley and Daniel Webster

Specialized Clubs ●Who: Kindergarten through 3 rd grade ● What: Art, Science, Soccer, Chess and Lego ● When: Monday through Friday 1:45 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. (McKinley) Monday through Friday 2:40 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. (Daniel Webster) ● Where: McKinley Elementary School **Note: Space is limited in all clubs so interested students should apply quickly to these programs on May 1st 2015 at 10am to increase their chances of getting into their program of choice. Otherwise, enrollment is based on first come, first serve basis.

Language Program ● Who: Kindergarten through 5 th grade ● What: Spanish and Mandarin *New students who are accepted into the language program will be contacted by ASEP staff to schedule placement tests. ● When: Monday through Thursday 1:45 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. ● Language Aftercare: Monday through Thursday 4:00 p.m to 6:00 p.m. Fridays 1:45 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. ● Where: McKinley Elementary School **Note: Space is limited. Enrollment is based on first come, first serve basis.

Scholarships ●ASEP offers completely free programming for families in need. ●Scholarship eligibility forms can be found in ASEP’s hard copy application packet.

How do I register my child into ASEP? ●Option 1: Online Application (Optional) ●Option 2: Hardcopy/Paper Application (Mandatory)

Online Registration ● Admittance to all ASEP programs is based on a first-come, first-serve basis. ● Online application form will be available at ● Families can begin the online registration process at 1o a.m. on May 1 st. ● All families are REQUIRED to complete a paper application by May 29 th even if they fill out the online form.

Then… 4.The online registration form “Mckinley Registration” will open (see picture on right). 5.Complete all required fields on form. 6.After completing all required fields, then click Submit (see picture on right). *Note:If you have more than one child attending ASEP, please complete an online registration form for EACH child.

Hardcopy Registration ● Hard copy applications will be distributed in “Wednesday Folders” on April 29 th. ● ASEP will begin to accept completed hard copy applications with the $50.00 registration fee on May 1 st at 10 a.m. Any applications submitted before May 1 st will be returned. ● All completed applications should be mailed directly to the ASEP main office at 2017 Mission St., Second Floor, SF, CA ● Applications will also be accepted at McKinley in room 29 AFTER May 1 st at 10 a.m. Until the deadline May 29 th.

Hardcopy Registration (Cont.) ● If your online application (optional) and hard copy application (mandatory) are received by May 29 th, then you will hear back from us by June 26 th. ● Admittance to all of ASEP’s programs is based on a first-come, first serve basis. ● Any applicants submitting after the May 29 th deadline will be processed as soon as possible, but we cannot ensure you that you will hear back from us by June 26 th or that your child will be eligible to start programs on the first day of school during the school year.

Important Dates ● Wednesday, April 29, 2015: Hard-copy applications for ASEP’s programs will be distributed through McKinley student’s Wednesday folders. A PDF version of ASEP’s hard-copy application will also be available on ASEP’s website and in room 29 at McKinley. However completed hard copy applications WILL NOT be accepted by ASEP staff until Friday May 1st 2015 at 10am. ● Friday, May 1, 2015: ASEP's online application form goes lives at 10am on the homepage of ASEP’s website ( Hard copy applications should be dropped off to ASEP staff in room 29 at McKinley Elementary.

Important Dates (Cont.) ● Friday, May 29, 2015: All ASEP hard copy applications are due and should be dropped off directly in the McKinley drop box location (Room 29) or mailed to ASEP’s main office at 2017 Mission St., Second Floor, San Francisco, CA with a $50.00 check to cover the registration fee. Acceptance into all ASEP programs including specialty Clubs and the ASEP Language Program, will be based on a first come, first serve basis. ● Friday, June 26, 2015: ASEP will send out official acceptance notifications to all families who submitted their applications by the May 29th 2015 deadline.
