BELL WORK – Monday (week 4) What is a clause ? Define the word clause. Then provide an example of an independent AND dependent clause. You may need to look those terms up as well to refresh your memory.

BELL WORK - Tuesday  Identify each BOLD section of the sentence as independent or dependent. 1. Joyce enjoyed geometry more than she enjoyed algebra. 2.She liked the fact that the class began with simple shapes. 3. A point was the first thing that the students learned about. 4. BELL WORK- Wednesday  Identifying Independent and Dependent clauses  If an item is a sentence consisting of only ONE independent clause write INDEPENDENT. If it is a fragment consisting of only ONE dependent clause write DEPENDENT. If the sentence contains both an independent AND a dependent write an equation for the order of the clause.
