Miss de Vré

Lesson 1 Miss de Vré

Background information The Wave is based on a true event which took place in California. In 1969, history teacher Rob Jones conducted an experiment in his high school classroom. The experiment, known as the Third wave was the response to a question from one of his students. Miss de Vré

Background information This was the question: "How could the Germans sit back while the Nazis slaughtered people all around them and say they didn't know about it?“ Over the next few lessons we will find out the answer to this question. Film trailer Miss de Vré

Book covers; what do they tell you? Which one would you choose and why? Miss de Vré

Getting started We are going to read the book individually and in class we will work at a group journal. In groups of 4 (made by me) you will discuss all tasks given in class. They have to be worked out together and handed in after we finish reading the book. Spend some time thinking about your own personal answers (10 minutes per lesson) and write down your own comments before you discuss things in your group and come to a joint answer. End your journal with an individual reflection of both the book and your group work (How did you work together/ What was your role within the group?) Miss de Vré
