Prayer Eph. 6:18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints. What does it mean to pray “in the Spirit”? How many kinds of prayers can you think of?

The A.R.T. of prayer “The purpose of all prayer is to find God’s will and to make that will our prayer.” Catherine Marshall “When we speak with God, our power of addressing him, of holding communion with him, and listening to his still small voice, depends on our will being one and the same with his.” Florence Nightingale ALIGNMENT “Not my will but yours be done.” Jesus (Luke 22:42)

The A.R.T. of prayer “Real prayer comes not from gritting our teeth, but from falling in love.” Richard Foster RELATIONSHIP “Prayer is the soul’s traffic with heaven.” Thomas Watson “For those who have hidden fellowship with God, life is a continuous feast” S.G. Degraff “To pray is to mount on eagle’s wings above the clouds and get into the clear heaven where God dwells.” C.H.Spurgeon

The A.R.T. of prayer Eccles. 5:1-2 As you enter the house of God, keep your ears open and your mouth shut! Don't be a fool who doesn't realise that mindless offerings to God are evil. And don't make rash promises to God, for he is in heaven, and you are only here on earth. So let your words be few. TRUTH Psalm 86:11 “Teach me your ways, O Lord, that I may live according to your truth!” “Prayer is the means by which truth is burned in our hearts by the Holy Spirit.”

Prayer “To pray is to enter into the infinite realm of divine possibilities where the Sovereign God of heaven is released to bring the full weight of his knowledge & power to bear upon the situation in hand.” “True prayer will ALWAYS leave us feeling more spiritually alive then when we started”

Some practical things for us Learn to pray strong (tongues strengthens us) Find your ‘prayer closet’ – a place of regular prayer Find your prayer partners – it helps to work out together Be prepared to break the flesh barrier

Praying together Be zealous & up for it Feed off each others prayers Be vocal agreement Everybody contribute (building a fire)
