Overview: Quizicards is an iphone application which turns the room into a quiz game. The application has two sides, the quizmaster and the contestant; the quizmaster can ask various timed questions to the audience turning any dinner party, gathering or bored moment into a fun packed quiz. The app will have over 500 questions split into 'general knowledge' 'categories' and specialist subjects' which means the game type can vary. They can either choose 'individuals' or 'multiple' contestants which also changes the game type. The game is played by turning the iphone on its side (landscape). How it works On load, the user will choose the game type and the amount of players and various other options (time, rounds etc) then the screen will show the user a pack of quiz cards with the questions and answers on. There will also be a timer for each question. The User (quizmaster) asks people in the room the question and if correct the Quizmaster will change cards by running their right thumb over the side of the screen (as if putting a card to the back of the pack) and if incorrect then the quizmaster will run their left finger over the screen. When a round is over the app tots up the players score and adds it to a table. Multipliers can earned by answering the questions quickly and also a string of correct answers. This repeats for the various contestants until the 1, 3, 5 or more rounds have been exhausted. The contestant If there are multiple iphone users playing the game they can also press the 'contestant' option which allows the users to choose a sound effect from various choices which will be assigned to their 'answer button'. The user can tap the screen to answer a question. This is not connected to the main quizmaster game, merely a bit of fun. Look and Feel The look will be simple colourful graphics in order to keep costs to a minimum. Some animations will be needed such as the cards sliding off the top of the pack. Sounds and animation The application will require 10 sound effects for quiz buttons and a paper turning sound effect for when the quizmaster moves onto the next question. Another for the end of the round/quiz and possibly some option background music. Questions There will be 500 questions to begin with but updates will be available later on. The categories are: - Sports & Leisure - Entertainment - History - Geography - Arts & Literature - Science & Nature - Stupid & damn right weird Create a Quiz Users can also select Create a Quiz and add titles, descriptions, keywords and questions (e.g. Harry potter mega quiz) and choose to upload it to the website) or even download another persons quiz.
