Who is CA2012? Camp Africa is the brainchild of “Plymouth Banjul Challenge”

What is the Concept?  The need for Youth involvement in “new direction” towards cultural integration.  Designed to open up the rich cultural heritage of West Africa in particular and Africa in general  Use Education and “Responsible Tourism” as vehicle.

bringing the “international youth together…to encourage cross cultural dialogue” Mission? To bring local, regional and international youth together on an annual basis to encourage integration, cross-cultural dialogue through a multi-faceted programme of sporting, cultural, educational tourism and community focused activities.

Objectives? To support Cultural integration through the implementation and development of a global youth educational tourism programs. To continue to develop global awareness of regional commitment to cultural tourism as a key economic driver and differentiator. To positively impact the tourism industry by creating a holistic community that involves both the formal and informal sectors. To promote the diverse appeal of Africa’s cultural and natural landscape, and people; and develop a more positive image for the region. To foster social inclusion across local communities and provide practical support education, anti-poverty and peace building programs. To develop continuing support for programs that actively promote sustainability throughout Africa as a whole, with an initial focus on West Africa.

Our Team Overseen by a coalition of Gambia- based organisations with experience in Responsible Tourism, Culture and sports. Plymouth Banjul, ASSET, ICRT-WA are responsible for overseeing the project on the ground in Gambia. Full support from Government
