 States that the number of transistors on a microprocessor will double every two years.  Current technology is approaching physical limitations. The Future of Moore’s Law Joseph Fort

The Next Step  Kurzweil suggests that a new technology will arise and a paradigm shift will occur.  Multi-core processors are several processors combined on one chip.  Multi-core processors allow for the advancement of computing but do not fulfill Moore’s Law.
