Salinity of Ocean Water Linda Grenier and Alma Ritz Helms Project

Salinity (%o) of Ocean Water

Temperature (F) of Ocean Water Samples

Salinity (%o) from Different Locations

Location of Sample Water On 9/03/02 an ocean water sample was collected from the surface at Hyde Park. On 9/25/02 ocean water samples were collected from the surface, at 40’ depth, and at 80’ depth in the East Passage.

CONCLUSION In examining our data, we concluded that the lower salinity reading at the deeper depth would be caused by lower water temperatures; since salt precipitates out of water in colder temperatures.
