Middle school teachers teach students in grades 6 to 8. They specialize in specific subjects such as Math, Science, Social Studies, English, Home & Careers, Technology and Music. They may teach between 15 and 29 students at a time. Middle school teachers teach five classes a day. They prepare a lesson plan that includes what information they want to provide to students, as well as the assignments they will give out to the class.

Teachers must have at least a bachelor's degree, which usually take 4 years to complete. They also have to complete an approved teacher education program All middle school teachers who wish to teach in the New York public school system must have a Masters Degree.

Most middle school teachers earn $49,450 a year. Teachers can receive extra pay for coaching sports, working with students in extracurricular activities or during the summer by teaching summer school. In addition to their salaries, full-time teachers also receive benefits, including, health and dental insurance, and pension plan contributions. Approximately 1250 new middle school teachers will be hired in New York State each year.

Corporate trainers present courses to all levels of a company’s staff, from entry-level workers to senior executives. Trainers research and put together the information necessary to teach courses, and design the lessons plans, assignments, and tests. They are primarily employed by banks, government agencies and corporations. Trainers teach many subjects including computers, safety procedures, sales techniques and communication skills. Information technology trainers teach staff to use software. Product trainers educate salespeople on the different products the company manufactures.

Corporate trainers need a bachelor’s degree in Liberal arts, social sciences, business, human resources, education, or communications. These degrees are all good preparation for teaching in corporate settings. A master’s degree in education may be required for certain positions

Corporate trainers who work full-time earn $44,830 at an entry level position. Trainers who move into management positions, or whose skills are in high demand, can earn up to $80,000. There are 430 new jobs each year as a corporate trainer in New York.
