XCRI-CAP... | slide 3  XCRI started in 2005 (Bottom Up approach)  XCRI-CAP taken forward for standardisation and piloting  2011 XCRI-CAP at a level of maturity for implementation of the standard  A XCRI-CAP record could be created for any type of course or module

HEAR... | slide 4  HEAR started in 2003 (Bottom Up approach?)  In 2007, Universities UK and GuildHE published Beyond the honours degree classification: the Burgess Group final report.Beyond the honours degree classification: the Burgess Group final report  JISC created XML schema as extension of XCRI-CAP XML schema, Diploma Supplement compliant  Records a student’s achievement in HE and provides more detailed information about a student’s learning and achievement than the traditional degree classification system.  HEA now supporting further implementation  Section 6.1 includes: academic work, extra-curricular activities, prizes and employability awards and voluntary work and offices held in student union clubs and societies

KIS... | slide 5 Key Information SetsKey Information Sets (KIS) : student satisfaction (from NSS) course information (average teaching and learning experience from previous cohorts) employment and salary data (from DLHE, may be IR?) accommodation costs financial information, such as fees (from UCAS) students' union information. The KIS | slide 6 There will be a KIS for all UG courses (including part- time) planned for , on which students at HEIs are registered, or which are run through private providers who subscribe to the QAA for HE UG programmes taught through FE colleges will also require a KIS. The only exceptions are short courses (one year full- time equivalent or less), postgraduate courses, those delivered wholly overseas, and closed courses.
