THE RESEARCH OF WIRELESS APPLICATION PROTOCOL APPLIED IN THE HOME CARE SYSTEM G.B. Yu,I.P. Chao, J.L. Su Biomedical Imaging Lab. Department of Biomedical Engineering Chung Yuan Christian University Chung Li, 32023, Taiwan This work was supported by National Science Council, Taiwan, under Grant NSC E

Abstract  Telemedicine system of home care with the WAP platform. Provide the home care nurse access the hospital information system through the mobile phone. Provide the home care nurse access the hospital information system through the mobile phone.  Acquisition, transmitting and deposition the physical information of the home care patient into the database.  A high mobility, low cast and powerfully in the application of home care telemedicine system.

Introduction  1997, Taiwan Health Care Department performed the long-term care of home care system.  1999,S.J. Wang, G.J. Wu, J.L. Su connect the local- area wireless network and GSM cellular phone with the wireless modem and notebooks to transmit the patient’s physiological parameter and voice/image signal in a digitalized wireless mode.  2000,WAP service was started to use in Taiwan Telecommunications.

The aim of this research  Use the WAP to access the WWW internet with wireless communication networks that can transmit and receive the patient’s data from the home care database.  Use the GSM cellular phone and WWW internet system to build up the home care system in the telecommunication way.

Methodology  To grabble and transmit the patient’s heart sound. use electric stethoscope and newly designed acquisitive device to transmit the signal use electric stethoscope and newly designed acquisitive device to transmit the signal  To register and browse the home care data. communicate and data access between the WAP cellular phone and WWW server communicate and data access between the WAP cellular phone and WWW server  To build up database of home care system heart sound and the data will be storage in a WWW server database heart sound and the data will be storage in a WWW server database  To perform the home care telemedicine system
