Early Fall 2009: Provost requests Faculty Senate to come up with additional criteria for academic priorities because original policy is vague. These must work with in current university policy February 2010: Faculty Senate approves the creation of a task force to review the old policy on instructional priorities and resource allocation, and make recommendations, as appropriate, for revision. Task force begins meeting on March 10, and meets weekly thereafter. On April 19 task force produces an outline for a draft of policy to replace the current policy Outline is presented to university and feedback is solicited for two weeks, including website with comment features and two town-halls. After comment period ends, task force meets to consider comments and flesh the outline into an actual proposed policy. Task force is charged to deliver report to Provost and Faculty Senate by April 30.

What happens next? Task force solicits feedback from university community and uses the feedback to produce a draft policy. Report is delivered to Provost and Faculty Senate by April 30. ??? Before any proposal can become university policy, Senate must examine it and make recommendation to President. Senate debates policy Fall 2010.
