University of Louisiana at Monroe: – Hosted high school student preparing to major in Ag Business – Participated in Ag Expo 2009 by setting up a recruiting booth Sam Houston State University – Put together back packs for kids – Voted on new members Fort Hays – Inducted new members – Called incoming freshman to encourage them to choose Fort Hays

Your Invited! What: DTA National Convention When: April 2-4, 2009 Where: Missouri State University in Springfield, Missouri

Convention News We will be voting on a charter for Ferrum College to become a chartered member of DTA. – Ferrum College is a four year, private, co-ed liberal arts college. They are affiliated with the United Methodist Church. – Ferrum College is located in southwestern Virginia in the Blue Ridge Mountains. They are 35 miles south of Roanoke, Virginia and 70 miles north of Greensboro, North Carolina.

Come Prepared! Encourage students to run for national office! – Applications available at x.html x.html Select a voting delegate and prepare them for convention. – MUST BE A CURRENT PAID MEMBER! Submit a scrapbook for the Corbus Award – Format available at x.html x.html

Join in the fun! During convention there will be several workshops offered – Resume training – Community Service: Beg, Borrow and Steal – Many, Many More! Ag Quiz Bowl! – Encourage your students to brush up on their basic Ag knowledge and skills. – This is a great chance for students to interact with other colleges!
