TLWeb Project Building a Web-based Learning Community in a Liberal Arts University A 2-year UGC funded project TDG received: HK$ 2.6m Commenced in Nov 1999

Four interrelated components:   An easy-to-use web-based T&L interface   Workshops to train teachers to use the system to deliver materials and encourage interaction with and between students   Training workshops and hands-on web-based development projects to empower students   An online resource library of multimedia materials for course web sites TLWeb Project

What is WebCT? WebCT is a tool that facilitates the creation of sophisticated World Wide Web-based educational environments. It can be used to create entire on-line courses, or to simply publish materials that supplement existing courses. WebCT is developed by the University of British Columbia of Canada.

As of to date:   55 staff have participated in the training workshops   59 web courses have been created   about half of our students are using TLWeb in their learning TLWeb at Lingnan
