Summary of updates in version Automatically check each row for errors Monitoring datasheets improved Changing planted stems to natural Find species more easily –type a species then "?" to find it (common names, too) Reports improved –common names, plots with no stems Experimental: Choose a different color theme Collect plants; annotate them quickly

Automatically check each row for errors Each row is checked for errors when added. –Catch errors sooner, while the datasheet is in front of you. Prior versions waited until a plot was finished before checking for errors. Error checking is now turned on by default. –Can be turned off in the Main Menu > Options tab. Main Menu > Data Entry > (all options) How to find this form

Monitoring datasheets improved If orientation of plot X and Y axes is reversed, you can flag this so that next year's report shows stems properly. Level-2 plots have an option to print blank rows for natural stems on the same page as planted stems. Main Menu > Reports > Datasheets for monitoring or repeat sampling Plus, bugs were fixed that had blocking stems from appearing in next year's data if "print" wasn't checked on the list of plots, but "resample" was checked.

Changing planted stems to natural Previous interface didn't work on all computers. Now, planted stems can be marked natural with a simpler picklist and are planted unless marked natural. Main Menu > Data Entry > Planted Woody Stems old method. New picklist method.

Find species more easily Type part of a species name then a question mark. –Use for if common names (e.g., cypress) or specific epithet (e.g., dichotomum) when genus name is illegible on the datasheet. The search for species form will appear, searching for the text you entered prior to the question mark. VegBank and USDA Plants can be searched with 1 click. –Magic Species list is still available and is generally faster. Main Menu > Data Entry > (All forms involving species)

Reports improved Common names for plants are shown. In the "All stems" report, level 1 plots are listed without a number of stems, as natural stems are not sampled for these plots. Plots with no stems are clearly marked. Main Menu > Reports > Level 1: Simple Reports (exports to Excel)

Experimental: Choose a different theme Main Menu > Options > Advanced Features > Change theme

Collect plants; annotate them quickly Mark collected plants with "/" or "X" (collected or pressed) New collected plants form allows quick annotation of plants on all plots Main Menu > Data Entry > Cover data entry Main Menu > Extras > Update collected plants New form allows custom filtering and sorting based on your preference. Updated species names on this form automatically update species names on the Cover Data Entry form.
